About the Department

In line with the Ministry of Higher Education’s efforts to expand university education across various regions and governorates of the Kingdom, and pursuant to the Royal Decree No. 10093/MB dated 21/11/1428 H, the Higher Education Council issued Resolution No. 20/46/1428 dated 02/06/1428 H approving the establishment of the Department of Computer Science within the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology.

The Department of Computer Science has played a significant role in advancing education, scientific research, and community service through the implementation of its academic programs’ vision and mission. The programs offered by the department are designed in accordance with the highest internationally recognized standards. Furthermore, the Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences program has been accredited by both the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The Department of Computer Science actively contributes to achieving the ambitious vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and supports the national strategic objectives by preparing distinguished graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate effectively in the Kingdom’s development and progress across various sectors.
