Overview of the Cybersecurity Program

The Bachelor of Cybersecurity program was established to meet the growing demand for qualified specialists in protecting information and digital systems amid the rapid digital transformation witnessed in the Kingdom, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The program is offered under the supervision of the Department of Information Technology, College of Computer and Information Technology. It aims to prepare graduates capable of detecting, analyzing, and responding to security threats using modern technologies, while adhering to professional and ethical standards.

Mission of the Cybersecurity Program

To provide distinguished education in the field of cybersecurity and prepare professional graduates, leaders, and entrepreneurs through the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The program enables graduates to contribute effectively and ethically to addressing emerging technological threats, while supporting lifelong learning, scientific research, teamwork, effective communication, and community service.

Objectives of the Cybersecurity Program

Graduates of the Cybersecurity program are expected to:

1. Demonstrate excellence in core cybersecurity knowledge by addressing professional challenges using the latest knowledge, tools, and technologies.

2. Be familiar with research trends in cybersecurity, cyber threats, emerging innovations, and related entrepreneurship opportunities.

3. Demonstrate effective communication skills, critical thinking, and commitment to lifelong learning.

4. Uphold ethical, social, and professional responsibilities and interact effectively in diverse professional environments.

 

 Program Learning Outcomes

(K1)  - Describe fundamental concepts of computing, computer information systems, cybersecurity, and related fields.

(K1)  - Demonstrate in depth knowledge and understanding of processes, tools, techniques, policies, practices, and advanced topics in cybersecurity.

(S1)  - Analyze broad scope security problems and apply cybersecurity principles in designing and implementing appropriate solutions.

(S2)  - Apply security principles and practices to maintain operational continuity amid various risks and threats.

(S3)  - Use study, inquiry, and scientific research methodologies, along with mathematical processes, to process data and information in complex cybersecurity contexts and projects.

(S4)  - Communicate effectively in diverse professional contexts.

(V1)  - Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed decisions in cybersecurity practices based on legal and ethical principles.

(V2)  - Work effectively as a member of a team in cybersecurity activities and tasks.
